A Letter from Jeff Sutherland

Friends, colleagues, fellow Agilists,

I can't tell you how great it was to see all of you in Orlando this year for Agile2014. Your excitement around my new book Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time was truly exhilarating. For those of you who weren't lucky enough to win a copy at the VersionOne booth, the wait is over. The book is now available and you can order a copy today.

I am urging you to read and share the book to help spread the word about Scrum to the business community. The message is that the Agile movement has grown far beyond anyone’s wildest expectations, and it is time for the larger business world to embrace Scrum. I truly believe Scrum is not only the key to making better products faster, but it is also the way to make work better and more humane.

If you’d like to get a signed copy of the book, I’m doing a few events over the next few months. I’ll be on the West Coast the first week of October on book tour. The big event is on Tuesday, October 7th with the Silicon Valley Leadership Network at Paypal .

VersionOne has been gracious enough to invite me to Atlanta for another event. I’ll be there on Monday, October 13th. I’m speaking at the Georgia Tech Center, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and you can register here. And we plan on holding a live webinar in December, so check www.versionone.com/agilelive for more details soon.

I’ll also be in at the Sixth Annual Give Thanks for Scrum in Cambridge, MA on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. Can’t wait to see any or all of you at one of these events.

More events will soon be announced. I’m reaching out to Scrum User Groups across the country, the people who live and breathe Scrum every day, and making some things only available to them as a thanks for their commitment to Scrum. If you run a User Group or Meetup, I’d like to offer copies of the book to raffle off at your next meet-up. Let me know if you are interested (details below) and I’ll make sure to send you copies. I also recorded a half-hour talk that I’m giving exclusively to Scrum User Groups to show at their events. If there is enough demand, I would be happy to do additional live web casts or, depending on the commitment, make a live appearance.

All good wishes,

Jeff Sutherland
CEO, Scrum Inc.
